So, I would just like to state from the beginning that this post has now other meaning or direction than a man simply expressing his less than sober rants on the current state of things. That being said, let's dive in, shall we?

Where shall we begin? Let's start at the source of my venting as I twist the top off of a 4th blue for the night. Now, I've always been an opinionated individual, but I've never taken the time to fully vet my thoughts to anyone, at the very least, no purposely. My frustration and wide scope venting was likely sourced by a simple political commercial for the presidential candidacy for 2012. While I understand the underlying purpose of these commercials is to create two separate ideas: First, the opposing party is incompetent and secondly, the proposing party is far superior in the ideals and logic for the progression and well being of our country. I get it, I really do, but do politicians really believe that the American populous is so ignorant? All these general statements intended to slam the other party exclude ever bit of ration detail attached to their accusations that I can't help but burst out laughing after every advertisement. The fact that we pick the individuals to lead our entire country with a population in excess of 3 million citizens by the few commercial advertisements that we happen to see while we watch our regularly scheduled television shows is not only comical, it's frankly stupidity. A population of more than 3 million people comes down to voting between 2 individuals, because let's face it, the other candidates have never really had a fighting chance. We divide our entire national into 2 political parties, since we can clearly divide our entire populous into 2 groups based on all of their beliefs.

Since I believe in "x" idea, I am part of party "a" and the same is said in reverse. Regardless of our own personal beliefs we feel the need to identify ourselves with an individual party and vote in that party's favor for all our decisions. When did choosing between the lesser of two evils become a sound practice for choosing the leadership of hundreds of millions individuals? I would have liked to be there when this decision was made, but hey I probably would have just voted for my own party either way.

Honestly, I couldn't be more ashamed to be a part of any particular race than that of the human race. Disregarding our continued stupidity or our never straying path of self-destruction, we never learn from our mistakes even though I'm fairly certain we're the only species on the planet to document our entire history for everyone to see. We've been around for a minimum of two thousand years (I am aware that we have been around for much longer than that, but some individuals refuse to believe this, which only helps further my argument). So for the sake of argument, I will exclude anything outside the last two thousand years in terms of the progression of our species. In the last two thousand years, we have failed to move away from racism, sexual discrimination, and general bigotry. Well, to be fair, we aren't racist towards the different shades of skin color, only the primary colors. There is clearly no difference between white and tan when compared to brown and black. I forget, is the white mustang faster than the black or red mustang? Ah well, it doesn't matter, because the insurance is higher on the red one.

Bigotry is a bit of a broad term when it really just means intolerance toward those who hold different opinions from oneself. So let's just talk for a moment about religion and then branch out from there, shall we? My biggest issue with religion is that we fight about the most meaningless details between the various religions of the world. When your compare the majority of the religions around the world, the fundamental morals provided by and laid out by the various scriptures tend to line up. Do what is right, don't be an asshole and others well being before your own. Granted, I'm providing the cliff notes, but they should line up to any comparison. So, we have a set of guidelines to live by in order to be a "better person," but my version of the book states that God had a beard, while yours states that he was a bit large, let's ignore the teaching of these books and kill each other over it. That was clearly the meaning between the ideals laid out before us, right?

Alright, I'll stop poking at religion, politics and humanity's stupidity, though now that I think about it, I probably could have saved a few characters by chalking the former categories under the former. I joke, but that statement was getting down to the root of what I believe most of our problems comes from: definition. We all strive to be identically associated with a few words that we find meaningful. We choose to identify ourselves with vocabulary like, "intelligent", "powerful", "attractive" and "interesting." I'm not sure if our problem lies with the words we choose or that who try to identify ourselves with definitions to begin with. If you're looking to identify yourself by a vocabulary term, then why not decide on something a bit less generic? Some better examples would be, "innovative", "creative" or "defining." Instead of choosing a pre-existing definition associated with everyone before you, why not define yourself to a word that hasn't been thought of yet?

I guess what I'm trying to get at when it all boils down to the wire is: Stop seeking definition and begin defining yourself. If we don't make a drastic change as an entire species soon, then our entire species may exist to exist. At least, we'll exist in much more primitive state that we will inevitably revert back to because yes, evolution exists: It's not opinion or religious, it's a scientifically proven fact. Whether you choose to believe in a religion, no religion or to define your own believes, just remember that some things are worth believing in. Hate, fret and associate less: Love, embrace and become more.

Until my next six pack, enjoy.
